When I was growing up, we’d go to this restaurant that threw rolls at you. As crazy as it sounds, t was pretty awesome. But, what made it even better was that they would bring around fresh apple butter to put on the rolls. So began my love of apple butter.
I was never able to find apple butter on my own – it always seemed to pop up in the fall or if you make a visit to the orchard. Then I stumbled upon a recipe to make your own apple butter. Apparently, all you have to do is prepare the apples and then cook them within an inch of their lives. Easy enough, I thought. So I tried it and was pleasantly surprised with the results!

Peel, core, and chop the apples. Toss the apples in the spices.
