The other evening we were in the mood for some ice cream. We opted to bypass Dairy Queen or any of the countless fro-yo joints that have popped up around us. Instead, we made the trek to The Loop and dropped in at Fitz’s American Grill & Bottling Works. Fitz’s was established in 1947 as a restaurant that served their own, handmade root beer. It’s now grown to house a complete bottling line which produces several varieties of soda.
The restaurant serves traditional fare that is always delish. But, their desserts are even cooler. Their menu boasts a full-page of floats, malts, and shakes. The floats all include Fitz’s soda and the possibilities are endless. Their floats are serious business. And big.
Luke and I opted to split a milkshake. Well, I got a little and Luke proceeded to stuff every bit of milkshake goodness he could find into his mouth.
The kids were twitching from the sugar all the way home…
